Gate Automation in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi NCR: A Planning Guide
Share
Across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi NCR, the main gate is usually heavy, made of MS or wrought iron, and opened by hand several times a day. Automating it is one of the most useful upgrades you can make. This guide covers what to plan for in North India, from our base in Ambala Cantt.

Gates in North India are heavy
Independent houses, kothis and farmhouses often have long, heavy MS gates. The motor must be rated well above the gate's weight. Our Pellidium sliding gate motor comes in 600, 1,200, 1,500 and 2,000 kg models, and heavier industrial gates are available on request.

Sliding or swing?
- Sliding: best where there is space along the boundary wall. Common for city houses and factories.
- Swing: best for double-leaf gates with room for the leaves to open. Common for farmhouses. See the Blanco ARM kit.
More detail in our swing vs sliding guide.
Plan for dust, heat and the monsoon
Summer dust and monsoon water are the two things that wear gates out. Keep the track clean and the motor base well drained. Our monsoon care checklist covers the routine.
Plan for power cuts
Our sliding gate motors have a manual key-release, so you can open the gate by hand. Ask about battery backup if your area has long cuts.
What happens on a site survey
- We measure the gate and estimate its weight.
- We check the track, the pillars and the space beside the gate.
- We plan the power point and the cable route.
- You get a single, clear quote.
Who we work with
Homes, farmhouses, housing societies, factories, warehouses, hotels and offices. Societies and offices often add a boom barrier for the car park.
